Current Work

StepUp.One are a social enterprise that helps refugees who are otherwise barred from working on the domestic market gain access to remote work opportunities. They operate mostly out of Kakuma Camp, Kenya, where they estimate that they are able to triple the income of refugees who work with them.

Their program includes training their beneficiaries in digital marketing skills, as well as creating the infrastructure and networks for them to find work through the enterprise.

FTRU has devoted its attention this academic year (2022-2023) to working with StepUp.One to respond to a range of different research questions that interest the organisation.
